emmy magazine wins three 2009 Maggie Awards
(Los Angeles, CA) - emmy magazine was honored Friday night by the Western Publications Association with three Maggie Awards at its 58th annual ceremony.

For the second consecutive year emmy magazine was named Best Overall Communication, Advertising & Arts Trade Publication, which it has won three of the last five years. This is especially gratifying because it acknowledges emmy as the best among all media-related trade magazines.

The cover of the June 2008 issue, featuring 30 Rock creator and star Tina Fey photographed by lensman Antoine Verglas, won the Maggie for best cover of a trade publication.

 

Statement magazine named one of "the 15 Hottest Magazine Launches of 2007"
(Calabasas, CA) - Statement™ magazine has been named one of the 15 Hottest Magazine Launches of 2007. The launches were honored by min magazine and Samir Husni (aka Mr. Magazine) on November 13 at Tavern on the Green in New York. Publisher Richard Bleiweiss was on hand for Statement™.

Statement™ was launched in February 2007 featuring Emmy winner Jaime Pressly as the premiere Statement™ cover girl. Other Hollywood stars including Mary-Louise Parker and Elizabeth Hurley have since graced the cover. The Fall TV issue will be released in November featuring Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate. Statement™ has received incredible media buzz and has been featured on E! News, Us Weekly, OK! Weekly and Star magazine this year.

In 2004, Bleiweiss launched Calabasas magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication available through direct mail in Southern California's San Fernando Valley. As buzz for the magazine grew, Bleiweiss planned to take the magazine national. With chains such as Barnes SNoble on board to distribute the new national publication and top writers and photographers contributing, Statement™ was born.

 

Publisher & Creative Director Richard Bleiweiss sweeps away the competition with eight wins at the 2006 Maggie Awards
(Calabasas, CA) - Richard Bleiweiss, Publisher and Creative Director of Calabasas: Life at Its Best was awarded two 2006 Maggie Awards by the Western Publications Association on April 21 in a Los Angeles ceremony. In addition, he was honored with six awards for emmy Magazine, where he also serves as Art Director. The 55th annual awards are the most prestigious given to magazines published west of the Mississippi River, or distributed solely west of the Mississippi, and this year received more than 2,000 entries. Bleiweiss' had a total of 25 nominations, a record for the Maggie Awards.
